Fear was reborn and leaders leapt to waiting microphones, scripts trembling in their soft hands. Gunshots and potentially lethal cliches bark from international TV. Selected horrors for armchair voyeurs in Tik-tok-size bites. Anonymous dead bodies counted in the gaps between important speeches. Terrorism rides again: the rich talking tough and the rest doing the dying.
